Our Belgian colleagues delivered a dedicated training programme for young people following a mentor pathway with TAJO vzw. TAJO supports socially vulnerable teenagers between the ages of 10 and 14 through hands on workshops that introduce them to different professions. The goal is to strengthen their self confidence, broaden their horizons and help them discover their talents.
During training days in Kortrijk and Ghent, the focus was on three essential mentoring skills:
- Active listening
- Connecting communication
- Constructive feedback
The sessions were highly interactive and practice driven. Participants explored real life scenarios, engaged in role play and received immediate feedback. This ensured they could translate insights directly into their role as mentors for other young people.
As an international talent group, we see this as more than a local initiative. It is part of our broader commitment to building stronger communities and empowering future generations. By investing in young mentors today, we contribute to resilient, confident and engaged professionals for tomorrow.
We are proud of the House of Talents team in Belgium for bringing this to life and inspired by the young mentors who are ready to make a difference.
A sincere thank you to Leen Goossens, Lien Vanhoof, Sidney Cansse, Lieselot Vandamme, Milan Colpaert, Bert Heylen and Wai Man Chan for their dedication and commitment in making this initiative a success.
